REST API access prerequisites

To use the API-Service endpoints, ensure that you have:

• Created a user in N-central with the appropriate permissions and configuration (roles, access groups, MFA disabled, 2FA disabled).

• Set up API access in N-central by generating a JWT (referred to as N-central User-API Token), that acts as the permanent secret solely used for fetching access and refresh tokens.

A user does not have to be an API-only user to access the REST APIs. Selecting the API-only user option limits user access to the REST APIs only and not the N-central UI.
