When trying to fix patching issues, it's helpful to know if a set of patches installed successfully. This often requires a patch detection to submit new results to N-able N-central. Patch Detection on Demand enables you to run a one-time patch detection task against a single device or in bulk. Unlike maintenance windows which delay the detection results to stagger the inflow of data, the patch detection on demand submit its results instantly.
Patch Detection on Demand is available to devices with agent versions 2020.2 and higher.
Patch detection a single device
- Click Views > All Devices and click the name of the device.
- In the upper right corner of the window, click Add Task > Patch Management > Patch Detection on Demand.
- Select the patches and click OK.
Patch detection on multiple devices
- Click Views > All Devices.
- Click the check box next to all the devices to include in the results.
- In the upper right corner of the window, click Add Task > Patch Management > Patch Detection on Demand.
- Select the patches and click OK.
To see the patch detection results, go to the Device Details page and click Audit Trail in the upper right of the window. The patch detection results will indicate the patch status: in-progress, completed, or missed.
