Installing Microsoft feature upgrades

Patch Manager enables you to approve, download and install Microsoft Windows feature upgrades to Windows devices. Feature upgrades are available for approval on devices that have discovered the update through the Windows Update Agent.

There may sometimes be delays between approval and installation of an update due to phased roll-outs of the updates by Microsoft.

When a Feature Upgrade becomes available, N-able will test the update to ensure our installation parameters are correct. This means that while feature upgrades are available immediately for approval for Windows devices, they will fail to install until we add the updated installation parameters. Once N-able determines the update is ready for deployment, it is updated to the SIS server for the probe to download for installation on devices.

Patch Manager does not need to reboot a device when performing Microsoft feature upgrades.
