Monitor Windows services on a device with N-able N-central

Monitor Windows services using the N-able N-central service, "Windows Service". When you enable monitoring with N-able N-central, a new instance of the N-able N-central service is created with the name of the Windows service appended to the name of the N-able N-central service instance.

For example, enabling monitoring of the Windows service called DHCP Client creates a new instance of the N-able N-central service with the name "Windows Service - DHCP Client".

This feature is only available for managed Windows devices with N-able N-central agents installed.

  1. In the navigation pane, click Views > All Devices and click the Network Devices tab.
  2. Click the device Name.
  3. Click ToolsServices.
  4. In the Monitored column, enable or disable monitoring.
  5. Disabling the monitoring of a Windows service will remove all instances of the N-able N-central service from the target device.

  6. Click Save.

N-able N-central begins monitoring the selected service.
