Probe activation key

You will need the probe activation key to install generic probe software. A probe activation key is generated by N-able N-central when you manually create a probe.

The activation key appears on the Probes screen with a key icon. It is also available on the System Communication tab when editing a probe:

1. Click Administration > Probes and click on the probe name.

2. Click the System Communication tab.

3. Next to Probe Activation Key, click Get Activation Key > Copy Activation Key > OK.

An activation key is not required when installing a customer-specific Windows probe.
