Review Scripts in the N-able N-central repository

There may be scenarios when you wish to review the script in the script repository to understand its functionality and examine or update its code. To achieve this, you would download the script from the repository, amend it to match your updated requirements then re-upload the script to the repository.

Access the repository and download the script

  1. Click Configuration > Scheduled Tasks > Script/Software Repository.

  2. Search for and select the target script.

  3. Click on the script’s File Name to download a copy to your computer.

Replace the existing script

After updating the script, you can re-upload it to the repository and replace the current script.

  1. Click Configuration > Scheduled Tasks > Script/Software Repository.

  2. Search for and select the target script.

  3. Click on the Change button beside script’s File Name.

  4. Click Browse to locate and upload the script file.

When an updated version of a script is re-uploaded, the script is automatically downloaded to all devices running it to ensure that all deployments are using the latest version.

You cannot modify system or default scripts. If you want to make changes to one of these scripts, you can use the Clone Script function in the script repository to create a custom version of the script.
