Overview

This Automation Policy sends a Wake on LAN special packet to power on the remote device, waits the specified number of seconds, and pings the remote device to test if the power on was successful.

Input parameters

MAC Address: <string value> 00-00-00-00-00-00 or 00:00:00:00:00:00

Test Connectivity to IP Address: <string value> 1.1.1.1

Wait XX seconds before pinging remote device: <string number>

Automation policy

Outcome

The device, specified by its MAC address, is powered on as a result of receiving the waking packet.

Connectivity to the device is verified with a ping request. If after the selected wait time there is no response from the ping, the device is considered not reachable and the policy fails.

The Wake on LAN option has to be enabled on the device for the policy to run.
