What is a data sync?

The Analytics data sync triggers a data synchronization from the warehouse to generate visuals for time-critical analysis.

  • If you are on free tier, your data in the dashboards is refreshed every 24 hours

  • If you are on paid tier, your data in the dashboards id refreshed every 4 hours

You can also manually trigger the data sync on demand to refreshing of data sets, reports, and dashboards to update them with the latest data from the source systems. This feature is particularly useful when there is a need to quickly view updated insights or share the most recent information with stakeholders without waiting for scheduled refreshes. The on-demand sync does not sync when data is already as up-to-date.

With the on-demand sync, you can ensure that your reports reflect the most current data at any given time. This is especially beneficial when you need to make timely business decisions or when there are ad-hoc data updates that require immediate analysis.

A data sync takes about 60 seconds, during which all data is offline.

Last sync

The last date and time the data was retrieved from the data lake of the data warehouse, transferred into Power BI to power the dashboard.
