Set up an API User in Autotask
To communicate between systems an API User (API-only) security level Autotask user account is required.This user account is designed solely for API access. It cannot be used to log into the Autotask dashboard, and it cannot be assigned tickets or tasks.

Create an API User

Navigate to Admin > Features & Settings > Accounts Settings & Users > Resources/Users (HR) > Resources/Users

Click New API User.

Complete the required fields.

Select API User (system) from the "Security Level" drop-down.

Configure the API user "Credentials", Username (Key) and Password (Secret)

Under "API Tracking Identifier" select the Integration Vendor from the drop-down to automatically apply the required permissions for the N-central Integration:

N-able - N-central (on premise)

N-able - N-central (NCOD)

Click Save & Close once complete.
