Set the default timeout interval
Configure the default timeout interval for the TCP/IP service tests. When N-able N-central tests the availability of a service, it waits for a response from the service before it causes the service to transition to a different state. This waiting period is the timeout interval value.
For example, if you set the default timeout interval to be five seconds for Connectivity, N-able N-central causes a state transition of this service when it does not receive a response from this service within five seconds.
There is no timeout interval value for DNS. The DNS is not an IP test and uses the UDP.
This feature is only available at the system or product administrator level.
- Go to Administration > Service Management > and click Default Timeout Intervals.
- In the Default Timeout Interval (Seconds) column, enter the default timeout interval for each service.
- To apply the timeout interval setting to all of the existing service instances, click the check box in the Propagate column.
- Click OK.
The defaults are saved and applied to any new instances of the service. If you selected Propagate, all existing service instances are updated.
