Configure backup defaults for devices

N-able N-central enables you to configure the default backup to provide consistency for backup jobs and reduce the need to manually edit these properties on an individual basis. The backup defaults enable you to configure the login settings for the N-able backup exec and Asigra, to provide a seamless backup solution. You can also configure the connection information and obtain asset information about a VMware server.

1. Click Administration > Defaults > Backup and SNMP Defaults.
2. Click the Backup Defaults tab.
3. Configure the properties as required.
4. Click Propagate to distribute the default properties to existing devices. Otherwise, the changes you make will only apply to new devices.
5. Click Save.

The backup properties are applied to new devices that are added to N-able N-central. If you selected Propagate, the changes are applied to the devices currently managed by N-able N-central.
