Delete a customer or site
There may be a situation where you need to remove a customer from your services. If this happens, you need to remove the customer and their devices from N-able N-central and clean their devices of the N-able N-central components that were used. Removing the customer or site from N-able N-central severs all connections with N-able N-central. When removing a customer you need to not only delete the customer or site from N-able N-central, but also remove agents, probes and any other components.
Remove N-able N-central features and software
Depending on the customer's requirements, there may be a number of additional features that you need to remove before deleting the customer.
Remove Security Manager | AV Defender
Remove Security Manager | AV Defender from all devices using a rule.
- Click Configuration > Monitoring > Rules and click Add.
- Enter a name for the rule.
- Click the Network Device Configuration Options tab and click Security Manager.
- In the Action drop-down menu, click Uninstall Security Manager.
- Click Save.
Remove Backup Manager
Remove managed backup software from devices. This is removed from the device.
- In the Microsoft Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.
- Uninstall Backup Manager.
- Remove the folders c:\ProgramData\MXB and c:\Program Files\Backup Manager.
Remove Take Control/MSP Connect/MSP Anywhere
Take Control was formerly known as MSP Connect.
- In the Microsoft Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.
- Uninstall the Take Control/MSP Connect/MSP Anywhere software.
Remove Automation Manager
If used, manually remove Automation Manager in the File manager by going to c:\Program files (x86)\N-able Technologies
folder and deleting the AutomationManager
folder.
Delete a customer
Once you have removed the N-able N-central component software, you can delete the customer from N-able N-central.
- Go to the Service Organization level.
- Click Administration > Customers.
- Select the check box for the customer.
- Click Delete.
N-able N-central removes all sites, devices, probes, notifications, rules and users associated with the selected customers. Agents will self delete after not receiving a response from N-able N-central after seven days.
Delete a site
- Go to the Customer Organization level.
- Click Administration > Sites.
- Select the check box for the site.
- Click Delete.
Additional removal
If there was a local N-able N-central server where the probe cached files and updates, you need to remove these from the server.
Probe cache
When you remove the customer, the associated probes are also removed. Verify that the probe cache is also completely removed from the host server. The Probe cache is located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\N-able Technologies\Windows Software Probe\Repository
folder.
Patch cache
If you used a patch cache for the customer, verify that it has been removed from the host server. The patch cache is located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\N-able Technologies\NablePatchCache
folder.
