remote access for a customer to remote into a single device rom N-able N-central using Take Control

Description

You may need to give a user restricted access to N-able N-central for the purpose of using Take Control to access a single device only.

Environment

• N-able N-central 11+

Solution

The best role for this purpose is Default Remote Control role. You will likely need to clone this role for this purpose and then lock it down further by denying access to everything except the device that user is authorized to remote into.

1. Create a user account at the customer level.
2. Clone the Default Remote Control Role and give it a pertinent name.
3. Create an Access Group and give it a pertinent name as well, It works based if you create a device-based Access group. Add the device(s) to the Access Group.
4. Assign the User Account to the Access Group and the Role.
5. Test by logging into N-able N-central with the user's account to ensure only the appropriately configure workstation(s) can be accessed by Take Control.
