Windows Update Last Checked value in Control Panel is very old and does not match N-able N-central

Description
- Windows Update Last Checked value in Control Panel is very old and does not match N-able N-central. The Control Panel > Windows Update shows Up to date, but the Last Checked value is very old, causing concern for the customer or MSP.
- Affects Windows 10 or later devices.
Environment
- N-able N-central 11 or later
- Windows 10 (any supported version)
Solution
- This is a known behaviour. The Windows Update UI only updates this value when you either check for updates manually, or if patching is managed by Windows.
- Since the N-able N-central Agent makes an API call to the Windows Update Client, the Patch Detection initiated by the N-able N-central Agent does not update this value.
- This is a Windows UI issue that is beyond our control. There is no workaround available.
- If you need to show which patches have been installed on a device, your best avenue will be to provide a report via N-able N-central Reporting (eg. the Patch Approvals and Installations report).
