Unable to Apply ShadowProtect SPX Service Template - No Asset Information Available

  • This article provides information on how to fix ShadowProtect service template not applying.
ERROR: No Asset Information available

Environment

  • N-able N-central 10.2 SP 1 and newer
  • ShadowProtect SPX

Solution

  • When you apply ShadowProtect SPX service template you may get "No asset information found".
  • In order for the service templates for SPX to be applied you need to make sure that device properties credential are temporarily updated with the credential you used to install ShadowProtect.
  1. Go to the Device -> Click Settings >> Click Properties (update the Credentials and make sure they are the ones you use when you installed ShadowProtect).
  2. From the Device Page at the top right, Click Add Task >> Click Update Asset Info.
  3. Wait for the Asset Info Update to complete (5 - 20 minutes - check if the Update Asset Info option is greyed out, to see when it is completed).
  4. Apply the Service Template (this should work now).
  5. Go back to Device Properties and change the Credential back to the device Credentials.
  • Alternatively you can add the Service manually as follows.
  1. Go to Monitoring >> Status >> Click Add
  2. Select the service ShadowProtect SPX and the number of instances you want >> click Add
  3. With the service added click the Service Name >> Click the Service Details tab and enter the credentials manually.
