Description
- How to deploy Take Control for N-able N-central and configure proxy settings accordingly on an endpoint device?
Environment
- N-able N-central:
- Take Control.
- Windows.
Solution
- Download the Take Control agent installer through http://sis.n-able.com/GenericFiles.xml:
- Latest agent installer's link format is http://sis.n-able.com/GenericFiles/MSPA/MSPAWINInstaller/X.XX.XX.X/MSPA4NCentral-X.XX.XX-XXXXXXXX.exe" Version="X.XX.XX
- ?Where X are numbers regarding agent version serial references.
- Latest agent installer's link format is http://sis.n-able.com/GenericFiles/MSPA/MSPAWINInstaller/X.XX.XX.X/MSPA4NCentral-X.XX.XX-XXXXXXXX.exe" Version="X.XX.XX
- Navigate to the folder to where the installer was downloaded;
- Somewhere on the folder press Shift + Right Click and select Start Command Prompt Here;
- Run the Take Control agent installer with the following parameters:
- /S /R /MSPID <MSPID> /proxy 192.168.1.1 /proxyport 0000 /proxyusername some.one@somewhere.com /proxypasswd myPassw0rd
- ?NOTE: The values provided above line are just examples, you would need to replace the values with the actual proxy address, port number and credentials.
- The <MSPID> should be obtained from the BASupSrvc.ini file which can be found on of your devices that already has Take Control installed:
- For Vista and later version of Windows, that file's location is C:\ProgramData\GetSupportService_ N-able N-central !
- /S /R /MSPID <MSPID> /proxy 192.168.1.1 /proxyport 0000 /proxyusername some.one@somewhere.com /proxypasswd myPassw0rd
