Take Control (N-able N-central): Enable/Disable the notification when a Technician is in Session

Description

  • How to stop the visual indicator from showing;
  • How to notify the remote client when a technician is in session.

Environment

  • N-able N-central:
    • Take Control.

Solution

  • For an individual device:
    1. Login to your N-able N-central dashboard;
    2. Navigate to the intended device;
    3. Click on the menu Remote Control Settings > Take Control;
    4. Tick or untick the option Indicate to the end user when machine is being remotely controlled, as desired;
    5. Click the SAVE button.
  • For one or more Device Classes:
    1. Select the Administration > Defaults > Remote Control Defaults panel;
    2. Under Default Connection Type, select the intended Device Class(es);
      • NOTE: You must choose one Device Class at a time!
    3. Tick the option Indicate to the end user when machine is being remotely controlled;
    4. Check Propagate these changes to <Customers/Sites> or <Sites>;
      • Note: Depending on access level, this change will be propagated to all Customers/Sites or only relevant Sites.
    5. To apply to all existing Devices (as opposed to only newly added ones), check Propagate these changes to existing devices;
    6. Click the SAVE button.
