Description

  • You're looking to set up a Scheduled Reboot window to reboot a device regardless of circumstances.

Environment

  • N-able N-central

Solution

  • Note: This is an alternative to using Maintenance Windows and would primarily be used for situations that are not covered by the maintenance windows specifically.
  • While a scheduled reboot can be used, it will happen on schedule rather than "as needed" and the maintenance windows generally cover specific implementations such as Patch Management or AV related maintenance reboots.
  • This option simply triggers a reboot on the device via command-line and does not prompt the user in any way; as such we recommend using this solution carefully.
  • To set up the window on a per-device basis, you can do the following:
  1. Find the device for which you'd like to set up the window and click on it to enter the device level
  2. Select the Settings option in the blue band
  3. Select the Maintenance Windows option from the blue band
  4. Click the Add button and select Scheduled Reboot option
  5. Fill in the requested information and parameters for the reboot
  6. Click Save
