Service templates and Service Identifiers

Description

  • If you create the service template through the service template page, the use default values is set to true for all service parameters despite only the scan interval being the one that has a default.
  • For instance, if you create a service template with the Windows Applications and Services Logs service and put a custom name like Veeam Backup Failure, the service is adding to the device as Windows Applications and Services Logs instead of Windows Applications and Services Logs - Veeam Backup Failure.

Solution

  • This is a known issue, it has been targeted for N-able N-central 11 HF1 as per bug NCCF-4187.
  • If you are running 11.0.0.1079 and not able to upgrade to Hotfix 1 or greater please open a support ticket and one of our techs will be able to implement a finger fix to resolve the issue.
