Description

In order to install Report Manager, the installing account must have valid permissions in SSRS. Sometimes the SSRS page is not accessible, and this is usually due to invalid settings in Reporting Services Configuration Manager.

Environment

SQL 2008 and 2012 servers

Solution

1. Launch Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
2. Click on Web Service URL, and apply the settings as follows:
   a. IP Address: All Assigned
   b. TCP Port: 80
   c. SSL Certificate (not selected)
3. Save and move on to Database.
4. Click Change Database, and click through the wizard with the default settings. Hit Finish to close the wizard, then Hit Apply.
5. Move on to Report Manager URL, and the Virtual Directory should be populated. Hit Apply.
