Report Manager - Error 401 unauthorized when generating a report, the Windows account used by Report Manager has had a password reset.

Description

  • The following error message appears when trying to generate a report within Report Manager:
    • Error: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.
  • ?The Windows account used by Report Manager has had a password reset.

Environment

  • N-able N-central
  • Report Manager

Solution

  • This is common if a domain account was specified when installing Report Manager.
  • It is recommended to create a local administrator account with a password that does not expire.
  • To reset the credentials, please do the following:
    1. Select Start.
    2. Select N-able.
    3. Select Report Manager.
    4. Select Access Recovery.
    5. Select update the Windows account, which can be found at the bottom of the window.
    6. Reboot the server.
