Report Manager - Error 401 unauthorized when generating a report, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is Unavailable or incorrectly configured

Description

• The following error message appears when trying to generate a report within Report Manager:
  • Error: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.
• ?Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is Unavailable or incorrectly configured

Environment

• N-able N-central
• Report Manager

Solution

• To resolve this, please do the following:
  1. Select Start
  2. Open SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager
  3. Check for errors or configuration that is incorrect

• Restart Reporting Service

1. Select Start
2. Search for Services.msc
3. Locate the SQL Server Reporting Services service
4. Right-click the service mentioned in step 5
5. Select Restart?
