Description

After installing Report Manager when trying to open the Report Manager Administration or Reports console you may receive the following error. Note the error code: 0x800700c1.

HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error
The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

Most likely causes:
_The worker process is unable to read the applicationhost.config or web.config file.
_There is malformed XML in the applicationhost.config or web.config file.
_The server cannot access the applicationhost.config or web.config file because of incorrect NTFS permissions.

Things you can try:
_Look in the event logs for information about why the configuration files are not readable.
_Make sure the user identity specified for the application pool, or the authenticated user, has the required permissions to access the web.config file.

Solution

The error is Generated when the path to the web.config file is not correct in IIS.
  1. Open IIS Configuration Manager on the Report Manager server
  2. In the left hand Pane Click on the server name
  3. Next Click on Application Pools
  4. Right Click on ReportManager
  5. Select Advanced
  6. For Enable 32 bit Applications, choose False
You should now be able to open the report console and administrator console.
