RDP Error: Unable to Launch Application

Description

  • This error may occur when starting all RDP based remote control sessions, and may also happen with Web and Custom session types.
  • This is caused by bad Java cache or corrupt user specific files.

Environment

  • N-able N-central or earlier (for RDP)

Solution

  • Solution 1:
  1. Start the Java Control Panel (from Windows Control Panel > Java or from Java folder).
  2. On the General tab, click Network settings...
  3. Select Direct connection.
  4. Click OK.
  • Solution 2:
  1. Delete the following three folders:
    • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Sun
    • C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Sun
    • C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Oracle
