Newly Released Windows 10 Feature Update Won't Install

Description

  • In PatchInstall.log you may find the following entry during the install window:
[142] 2020-10-23 09:46:13,240 <<*>>   (1) Title[Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2] Guid[bb2ac292-d9ef-4e49-9de5-b6795ff7ef75] Approval[Install] CurrentState[Now] Error[Skipping Feature Update Installation, required data is being prepared by N-able for Feature Update to be successful through PME. Please try and install again after 1 week.]

Solution

  • This message is normal for any newly released Feature Updates.
  • These Feature Updates for Windows 10 require a prep file for PME to be able to install correctly, and it can take up to a week for our team to put together the file and properly test it.
  • Please wait at least one week from the release date of the Feature Update in question, then try again.
  • If the issue persists after a week, please contact support.
