Description
- Unable to install the N-able N-central MAC Agent on macOS
Environment
- N-able N-central
- macOS
Solution
- Before doing the following procedure, verify that the macOS version you are trying to install the agent on is supported. You can get this information from SO Level > Actions > Download Agent/Probe > System Software > View supported operating systems. If your macOS version is listed there, proceed with the remaining steps. If not, this version is not supported by your current version of N-able N-central.
- Go to the customer level > All device view > Add >Manually Create a Device that Represents an External Website or IP Address
- Fill the fields required in property tab and on the local agent tab select install the agent manually
- Click Save
- Go to the device you created
- Proceed to Settings and then click Local agent
- Download the installer from agent installer
- Unzip the package downloaded using the following command: tar -zxvf filename.tar.gz
- Execute the following file batch: install.sh
- When the Wizard asks you about the customer name or activation key, choose the activation key option
- Copy the activation key from the local agent
- Paste it in the installation wizard
- Complete the installation.
- Should the installation fail despite these steps, please collect the following logs and provide them to our support team:

- Possible alternate location of Agent Install Log: /var/log/N-able/N-agent/nagent.log
