Environment

  • N-able RMM

    • Backup & Recovery
  • N-able N-central
    • N-able Backup
  • Virtual Disaster Recovery
  • Hyper-V

Solution

  1. The Backup Manager restore in progress panel will show the file it is currently restoring, Take note of that.
  2. Check the application logs locally from http://localhost:5000/logs/app
  3. Search for the file that is being restored and you will likely see the following:
    • [BackupQueueHandler] Leaving restore of <filename>
  4. This means the restore of the data is complete but it is still doing some work. Likely merging disks. Look for the following line:
    • [VhdApiWrapper] Start merging of difference disk to parent.
  5. This means the disks are being merged. It can occasionally take a long time.
  6. Check the device to see if you can find evidence of it still being merged.
    • From your Hyper-V Manager you might see "Merge in Progress" status message.
