This article provides steps on how to activate your N-able N-central server.

Solution

Here are the steps in order for N-able Technologies Inc. to complete the activation of your N-able N-central server. In addition to the steps below, you will receive a Temporary Activation Key. The Temporary Activation Key allows you to get started ASAP with your purchased licenses for up to 60 days.

We are tracking the activation of your N-able N-central server in the case with the subject: New Customer Activation.

Review the System Requirements for your system for installing N-able N-central to ensure a successful activation.

The Installation and Configuration Guide is located on the page for the guides: Product Documentationor in the Software Downloads page for the specific version you wish to install.

Pay attention to the RAID configuration to ensure that your N-able N-central server runs smoothly for you.

N-able N-central can be downloaded from Software Downloads Section: Software Downloads

Go to the most recent version and download the Full Installation ISO and then burn it to a CD as an executable for Installation.

Note: If you have configured a private IP address to be translated to a public address, you must ensure the translation is completed prior to activation and test the connection from outside the network on which the server resides. If you are placing the server behind a firewall, ports 22, 80, 443 and 10000 (TCP only) must be forwarded to the server in order to enable access to the administrative login and the user interface login. The administrative console must be accessible to activate your N-able N-central server.

When you log in to the Product Administrators Page of the server, you will be asked for your Company ID. Your N-able N-central Activation ID is your Company ID for Activation.

Once you have completed the initial configuration, access the support page of your N-ableMe and update your activation case. Please include the public IP address and/or Fully Qualified Domain Name configured. A support representative will contact you once the activation is completed.

If you have not received your support portal login credentials or if at anytime you require assistance with your initial configuration, you may submit a support case on the web or by phone at 1-866-302-4689.

I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with your Temporary N-able N-central License Key. Once you have completed the installation of N-able N-central on your server you can install the Temporary N-able N-central License Key in order to get started with your purchased licenses ASAP. The Temporary N-able N-central License key is valid for the following integrated products:

To view the new licensing limits, log in to the User Interface (https://Server_IP) and select `The Service Organization' Level in the left hand Navigation Tree.

Click Reports > Administration > License Usage Report.

Find the attached document that walks you through the installation of the Temporary N-able N-central License Key.

The Temporary N-able N-central License Key is valid for 30 days only. It is important that we complete the Final Activation of your server prior to the expiration of the Temporary N-able N-central License Key. Re-open (see steps below) and respond to this case when you have the following information available:

The public IP address and/or Fully Qualified Domain Name of your N-able N-central Server;
- Ports 22, 80, 443 and 10000 open.
