Java error on Remote Control after upgrade

Description

  • Error received when using Remote Control after N-able N-central Upgrade.
  • Error message: "jar resources in jnlp file are not signed by the same certificate." or "Application Error: Unable to run application"

Environment

  • N-able N-central
  • Windows OS

Solution

To clear your Java cache in Windows:

  1. Open 'Control Panel'.
  2. In the Search filed type 'Java' and press 'enter'.
  3. 'Click' to open the Java application.
  4. Under the 'General' tab click the 'Settings' button under Temporary Internet Files section.
  5. Click 'Delete Files'.
  6. Select all 3 selection boxes and click 'OK'.
  7. Click 'OK' on Temporary Files Settings window.
  8. Click 'OK' to close the Java Control Panel.

To clear your Java cache in macOS:

  1. Click the 'Apple' menu in the main toolbar
  2. Click 'System Preferences'.
  3. Double click 'Java'.
  4. Under the 'General' tab click the 'Settings' button under Temporary Internet Files section.
  5. Click 'Delete Files'.
  6. Select all 3 selection boxes and click 'OK'.
  7. Click 'OK' on Temporary Files Settings window.
  8. Click 'OK' to close the Java Control Panel.
