- In N-able N-central, this can be seen when viewing Patch Status v2, or at Customer Level, go to Reports > Status > Patch Status (Detailed)
- In RMM, this error will be seen when double clicking on the Failed Patch in the Patches tab, or going to Reports > Patch Management Reports > Failure Report
- What does this error mean?
Environment
- N-able RMM
- N-able N-central
- Patch Management
- Feature Updates
- Windows 10
- Windows Server 2016 or Server 2019
Solution
- Usually the error that is thrown is -1047526904. Converting this to a Hex value you get 0xC1900208
- This is an NTSTATUS exception which, while not documented officially on Microsoft Documentation, indicates there are one or more incompatible software applications installed on the device
- To troubleshoot this:
- On the device, gather the Panther logs:
- Look for XML files that start with CompatData
- In one of these, you will find the application which indicates there is an issue
- Please uninstall the application and reprocess/retry the failed patch
- Note: If this does not solve the issue, please review the Microsoft Feature Update troubleshooting guidance
