  • What does this error mean?

Environment

  • N-able RMM
  • N-able N-central
  • Patch Management
  • Feature Updates
  • Windows 10
  • Windows Server 2016 or Server 2019

Solution

  • Usually the error that is thrown is -1047526904. Converting this to a Hex value you get 0xC1900208
  • This is an NTSTATUS exception which, while not documented officially on Microsoft Documentation, indicates there are one or more incompatible software applications installed on the device
  • To troubleshoot this:
    1. On the device, gather the Panther logs:
    2. Look for XML files that start with CompatData
    3. In one of these, you will find the application which indicates there is an issue
    4. Please uninstall the application and reprocess/retry the failed patch
  • Note: If this does not solve the issue, please review the Microsoft Feature Update troubleshooting guidance
