Patches installed showing in "View update history" may not show in N-able N-central 's Asset > Patches tab

Description

  • When looking at Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Windows Update > View update history some patches will not show in N-able N-central 's CustomerName > DeviceName > Asset > Patches.

Environment

  • N-able N-central

Solution

  • Patches will NOT show in Asset > Patches when:
    • If a patch was not detected by Windows Update,
    • If a patch is superseded and was not detected initially,
    • If a patch is too old (greater than 90 days old) and has been superseded,
    • If a patch is a hot fix or does not have complete Microsoft Meta-Data (contains information about the patch),
  • Patches WILL show in Asset > Patches when:
    • If a patch was detected by Windows Update,
    • If a patch is NOT superseded,
    • If a patch is not a hot fix.
