Description

This article gives information about what data is being stored in cookies when browsing N-able N-central .

Environment

N-able N-central 10.0 and later

Solution

Mandatory:

  • SessionID cookie -- this stores the JS session cookie ID that allows N-able N-central to keep user logged in. Standard browser session tracking employed by any website these days.
  • ncentral_version cookie -- this stores the N-able N-central version in order to allow it to detect when an upgrade happened and prompt the user to clear their cache


Optional:
login username -- this is stored only if you check the remember my username checkbox.

Note: N-able N-central never stores passwords or any critical information. Other browser plugins the user has might but the N-able N-central code does not.
