Description
This article outlines how to change the size of your disks for your N-able N-central server.
N-able N-central does not allow you to re-size your disks without rebuilding the server.
Environment
N-able N-central and above
Solution
- Shut off the N-able N-central VM
- Expand the Disk to any size (up to 2TB for MBR, or the limits for the VM for GPT on UEFI)
- Power on the N-able N-central VM
- Contact Support for final steps (you may start with this step but support will not be able to assist with steps 1-3)
- Support will be running a script to enable the usage of the new disk space.
- This can take some time (potentially hours depending on hardware and disk space being added) and it is recommended to plan for downtime for the N-able N-central server.
This script may cause issues with future upgrades. We recommend a rebuild of the N-central server where possible. The script should only ever be run once on the server, as it may create additional partitions which affect the upgrade.
