Description

  • This article describes on how you can remove a certain service from your monitoring and prevent from coming back.

Environment

  • N-able N-central

Solution

1. Delete the service in the Service Template first, this will prevent it from coming back.(e.g. Patch Status)

2. Manually delete the service on the machines, one quick workaround so you can delete all at once is by using the Active Issues View. You can filter all the service from there then Highlight all and Hit on Delete Services.

3. Alternatively, you can go to your Administration > Service Management > Service Control and look for Patch status and hit on Disable.

You can also use Rules if you want to remove certain service.

To remove a service using a Rule we will do the following:

1.Under Monitoring > Service templates create a new Service Template and add in the service you want to remove. Change the action from "ADD/MODIFY" to "REMOVE" and save back to the main Service Template list.

2.Create a Rule that uses a filter to target the devices you wish to remove the service from. Under the MONITORING section of the rule, add in your service template.

3. On the Grant Customer/Site Access tab, add in all Customers and check the PREVIEW tab at the right of the screen to ensure we are targeting the correct devices.

4. Save. The service will now be removed from all devices system wide that were targeted by your filter.

5. You may also want to now delete that service from the template that applied it in the first place.
