How to configure N-able N-central to use Office 365 or Google Apps as the mail relay

Description
- How to configure N-able N-central to use Office 365 or Google Apps as the mail relay
Environment
- N-able N-central
Solution
- Login to N-able N-central using the Product Admin account
- Navigate to Administration > Mail Network Settings > SMTP Authentication
- Select Use Mail Relay Server
- In the Mail Relay Server section, input smtp.office365.com for Office 365, or smtp.gmail.com for Google Apps
- Enter port 587
- Select Enable Authentication
- Select the LOGIN Authentication Method
- Enter the login information for a valid Office 365 or Google Apps account
- Select Save.
- NOTE: The Email Address used to send emails must match the account used to login to Office 365/Google Apps
- To change this in N-able N-central, please do the following:
- Login to N-able N-central using the Product Admin account
- Navigate to Administration > Defaults > Customized System Email
- Input the correct email address
- Select the Propagate checkbox
- Select Save
- Navigate to Administration > Defaults > Notification Templates
- Input the correct email address in the Sender Email Address option
- Select the Propagate checkbox
- Select Save
- NOTE: Alternatively you can also set a send-as permission (Alias) in Office 365 for any additional addresses you need to send as, but they need to be associated to the authenticating account.
