How to Perform a Clean Uninstall and Reinstall of Take Control for macOS in N-able N-central

Description
- This article covers the manual uninstall and reinstall procedure for when Take Control is still running with the MAC agent non functional.
Environment
- N-able N-central (all version)
- Take Control
Solution
- If the command (using the macOS Terminal) Applications/MSP\ Anywhere\ Agent\ N-able N-central .app/Contents/Resources/MSP\ Anywhere\ Helper -uninstall did not work, please follow the steps outlined below:
- Turn off Take Control for this device in N-able N-central:
- Access your N-able N-central UI.
- Open the device from the All Devices view.
- Go to Remote Control Settings > General.
- Uncheck the option Install Take Control.
- Click Save.
- Locate and delete the following files and folders if they exist:
- /Applications/Take Control Agent N-able N-central .app
- /Library/Logs/Take Control Agent N-able N-central
- /Library/Logs/Take Control Installer
- /Library/Take Control Agent N-able N-central
- /Library/LaunchDaemons/MSPAnywhereDaemonN-central.plist
- /Library/LaunchDaemons/MSPAnywhereHelperN-central.plist
- /Library/LaunchAgents/MSPAnywhereAgentN-central.plist
- /Library/LaunchAgents/MSPAnywhereAgentPLN-central.plist
- /Library/LaunchAgents/MSPAnywhereServiceConfiguratorN-central.plist
- /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/Take Control Agent N-able N-central .app
- Turn on Take Control for this device in N-able N-central again:
- Access your N-able N-central UI.
- Open the device from the All Devices view.
- Go to Remote Control Settings > General.
- Check the option Install Take Control.
- Click Save.
- Take Control should reinstall within 20 mins approximately but it can take more or less depending on the remote device's environment and characteristics.
