Environment

  • N-able N-central

Solution

  • The System Warranty service monitors a device's expected warranty expiry date
  • Normally, when the system warranty is added to the device, N-able N-central would use a website to check the warranty against the serial number of the device
  • Warranty update scans are done once a month, and cannot be forced to happen more frequently. Unless manually performed From the device Under Add Task > Update Asset Info
  • Warranty expiry can only be monitored on devices manufactured by these vendors:
    • Acer
    • Dell
    • Gateway
    • Lenovo
    • Toshiba
  • If you cannot add the system warranty service after Enabling Monitor Warranty Expiry Date under Asset - Configuration please do the following:
  • Verify the Warranty information can be found on www.lookupwarranty.com
  1. Go to www.lookupwarranty.com
  2. Enter the Serial Number
  3. Enter the Model
  4. Select Lookup Warranty
  5. In the N-able N-central Dashboard, select the device > Add Task > Update Asset Info
  • Before the System Warranty service get added to the device there needs to be a successful warranty discovery.
