Solution

Memory leaks can cause high CPU usage on MAC agents.

Verify the issue:

Go to Settings > Local Agent to check the actual memory usage of the Local Agent.

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Settings > Local Agent, uncheck the Perform Asset Scan box.

  2. Disable All services monitored in N-able N-central, restart agent services, the check the behavior.

  3. If the memory usage decreased, enable Perform Asset Scan and trigger an Asset Scan. Monitor the behavior.
  4. If memory usage is small, start enabling the services being monitored one by one.

NOTE: If the memory usage spiked up on any of the indicated steps, further troubleshooting may be required.
