Description

  • How to schedule and view backup folder.

Environment

  • N-able Helpdesk Manager 12.x

Solution

  • This information can be found under Setup > General > Database.
  • You should see the ability to schedule the backups for what day and time.

Backup Schedule

  • Days of the week and time of day when an automatic backup of the N-able Help Desk Manager should be performed. If no days of the week are checked, no backup will be performed.
  • If using the embedded PostgreSQL database, backups are written by default to the pgsql9/Backups directory under the N-able Help Desk Manager home folder. A custom folder may be specified instead.
  • If not using the embedded database, a shell command may be provided to be executed according to the backup schedule.


Note: It is your responsibility to copy the database backup files to a network or tape drive. Database backups should be performed before applying any update to the N-able Help Desk Manager.

Changes to this setting will be applied to the database currently in use. If a new database has been selected, it will not be in use until the application has been restarted.

  • You should also see the backup destination folder which can be changed to a different location

Backup Folder

  • The folder to which backups of the embedded PostgreSQL database will be stored. Backups are created according to the Backup Schedule and named according to the time of the backup (e.g., a backup performed on May 17, 2007 at 2:--30am would be named B_2007_05_17-02_30_00).
