Discovery job is stuck in Pending

Description

  • Discovery job(s) don't run
  • Discovery Job(s) stuck at in "Pending" state

Environment

  • N-able N-central
  • Discovery Jobs

Solution

  • Pending is a normal status which is used to show that the probe is waiting for the next run
  • A recurring job will always be in either In Progress or Pending, which is by design
  • If this is not a recurring discovery job, then please do the following:
  1. Check that the probe is Online
    1. Select Administration
    2. Select Probes
    3. Review the Probe Status
    4. Restart Probe Services from services.msc on the device.
  2. Check that the probe version is up to date
    1. Select Administration
    2. Select Probes
    3. Note the probe version
  3. Verify the N-able N-central version
    1. Select Help
    2. Select Version Information
