N-central Troubleshooting
Device transitioned to the "Disconnected" state instead of transitioning to "Failed" when the device went offline

Description
- When a device is powered off or otherwise loses connection to N-able N-central , its services all transition to the "Disconnected" state instead of to "Failed"
Environment
- N-able N-central
Solution
- Your device transitioned to a "Disconnected" state instead of "Failed" because the "Unscheduled Downtime" option enabled
- NOTE: This can be found by doing the following:
- In the All Devices view select the device in question
- Select Settings
- Select Monitoring Options
- NOTE: This can be found by doing the following:
- This option is in place to reduce the amount of failed notifications received as your clients power off their computers
- Unscheduled Downtime is on by default for all workstations and laptop devices
- Also, while this is an option for server devices, it would be turned off by default
