Device asset information not updating

Description

  • This article will provide you information on why certain values under Assetare not updating.

  • Here we show the example of Last Boot-up but the same applies for anything under device asset.

Environment

  • N-able N-central

Solution

  • You may have noticed that this value is not being updated, despite the machine doing daily reboots. This may also affect your reports.
  • There are 3 settings that can update this value: Update Asset Info, Asset Scan and a Discovery Job.

To Update Asset Info:
  • Open the device in N-able N-central
  • Add Task > Update Asset Info

To perform Asset Scan or change the schedule:
  • Open the device in N-able N-central
  • Settings > Local Agent
  • Select Perform Asset Scan and configure the Asset Scan Schedule
  • Click Save

To perform a discovery job:
  • Configuration > Asset Discovery > Discovery Jobs
  • Add
  • Go through the discovery wizard and click Finish?
