Description

This article provides steps on checking if an application can be uninstalled by the Uninstall software object on Automation Manager.

Environment

N-able N-central

Solution

  1. Open Automation Manager from the 'SO level' > 'Actions' > 'Automation Manager'.
  2. Create a 'new policy' and put your preferred name for it.
  3. From the object list, drag the Software inventory object. 'Save' and upload the policy once done.
  4. Once the policy has been successfully uploaded, from the All devices view, select the devices where you want to test the policy. 'Click on Add task' > 'Run an Automation policy'.
  5. From the scheduled tasks screen, input a name, select Local system under credentials, then select the policy you have created from the policy list. Click on 'Save' once done.
  6. Click on Job status to check on the progress of the automation policy. Once completed, click on the job name and download the output file generated by the task.
  7. From the output, if the third column is set to True, then that means you can uninstall it from Automation Manager using the 'Uninstall Software' object.
