Change agent/probe communication settings

Description
- Configure the agent and probe communication settings to verify that the agent and probes can communicate to the N-able N-central server.
Environment
- N-able N-central
Solution
- Go the level that you want to apply the change to (System, SO, or Customer level).
- Go to Administration > Defaults > Appliance Settings > Communication Settings
- Add server's public IP or FQDN
- Verify if the protocol is correct
- Verify if the port number is correct
- Type the Proxy String which must be a valid network address
- Both authenticating and non-authenticating proxies are supported
- For authenticating proxies, the following are examples of proxy strings:(only applicable if your customer is behind a proxy or firewall)
- username@hostname:port
- username:password@hostname:port
- domain_name\\username@hostname:port
- For not-authenticating proxies, the following are examples of proxy strings:
- hostname:port
- domain_name\\hostname:port
- Select Propagate
- Select Save
- NOTE: be cautious when editing the default Communication Settings as significant problems can occur if incorrect settings are applied
- Any modifications made to Communication Settings will not be applied until you select save.
