Description

  • Left a session running on another device and cannot disconnect the Take Control connection
  • After killing all Take Control processes and rebooting device Take Control connection re-establishes

Environment

  • N-able N-central
  • Take Control

Solution

  • The Take Control Viewer will continue to attempt to reconnect to the device until the Viewer is closed, even after rebooting the remote device or restarting the Take Control service.
  • You'll need to close the Take Control Viewer in order to stop connection attempts to the device in question.
  • At this time, there is no option available to forcefully close ongoing Take Control connections to a device from the dashboard.
  • Alternatively, should you not have access to the device where the Take Control Viewer window is running, you can perform a re-install of the Take Control feature on the host device
  • This is because the Viewer will not be able to connect to the new install
