Auto Approval Not Working for KB Numbers or Keywords

Description

  • I have auto-approvals that are using KB Numbers or Keywords, but the patches are still not being approved.

  • N-able N-central
  • Patch Management

Solution

  • The option for "The Following Keywords" functions as a filter for patch approvals and require the appropriate Products and Classifications to be selected.
    • It works as an AND statement rather than an OR statement in the logic that processes the list of patches.
    • Check to make sure that the Product(s) and Classification(s) are selected appropriately for the auto-approval rule, without them the option will not work.
  • "The Following KB Numbers" is an explicit selection. It will target the KB(s) without heed of product or classification selections.
