Description
- Applying Dell Service Template fails with "No asset information available"
Environment
- N-able N-central 9 or later
Solution
- This is most often the cause of the Dell OpenManage software not being installed on the device or SNMP not being enabled within the device (server).
- In order to apply a Server Template, you'll need to ensure the following for the device(s) in question:
- Monitoring the Server where Windows is installed on the device:
- You'll need to have the Dell OpenManage installed on the device
- SNMP will need to be enabled on the device from within Windows (this is likely a Windows Component which you can enable via the Control Panel)
- SNMP will need to be enabled on the device within N-able N-central (Settings > Monitoring Options > SNMP Settings)
- An asset discovery must be run against the device Using the local Probe. The Local agent can monitor SNMP based services. The discovery has to be done by the local probe device
