Description
You're looking to add a new N-able N-central Datasource to N-able Report Manager.
Environment
- N-able N-central(any version)
- N-able Report Manager(any version)
Solution
Add an N-able N-central Data Source
At the end of a new installation, N-able Report Manager launches and opens to the N-able N-central Configuration screen, where you can configure data sources for N-able Report Manager.
You can set up one or more data sources. Typically, you will configure N-able N-central as a data source for N-able Report Manager. However, you can also add data collection from PSAs you have integrated in N-able N-central. N-able Report Manager supports the Autotask,ConnectWise Manage , and Help Desk Manager PSA integrations.
Any time you add an N-able N-central data source, consider adding the database to a database maintenance plan to receive notifications of failure for Report Manager Maintenance. For more information, refer to Monitor N-able Report Manager as a device through N-able N-central.
Best Practice
For the Operational Data Store drive, N-able N-central recommends that you have a minimum of 100 GB free space.
N-able N-central recommends that the Operational Data Store and Operational Data Store logs be stored on separate physical storage drives. These storage locations cannot be changed after the database has been created.
Configure a N-able N-central data source.
If you are adding a first data source, log in to N-able Report Manager. Skip to step 2.
If you are adding an additional data source, log in to N-able N-central.
Click Administration > Report Manager > Administration Console.
Log in to N-able Report Manager.
Click N-able N-central Configuration.Check the Server FQDN/IP field to see if your N-central server has already been added.
To add a new data source, click Add.
Type the Internal FQDN or IP address of the N-central server to be added.
If required, specify the Operational Data Store Path and Operational Data Store Log Path.
Type the Product Administrator user name and password for the N-central server.
- To add data collection from your PSA connections in N-central, select the Automatically collect data from PSA integrations check box. After this option is selected, Report Manager can connect directly to external PSA servers using the PSA configuration from N-central. However, a custom user must be created in Autotask for syncing Report Manager with Autotask.
These credentials must be edited manually.
To create these credentials, browse within Autotask to:
Admin > Extensions & Integrations > Other Extensions and Tools > Integration Center.
Find Integration Vendor Name: Solarwinds MSP - Report Manager.
Click the ellipsis icon.
Click Add API User.
Fill out the required fields.
Click Generate Key & Generate Secret.
Click Save.
Click Add.
- Ticketing information is only provided for PSA Integrations with N-able N-central 9.0 and later.
