Add a schedule task to restart a Windows Service

Description

This article describes how you can schedule a weekly restart of service through scheduled task in SO or Customer Level.

Environment

All versions of N-able N-central

Solution

1. Under the SO or Customer Specific Level, go to Configuration Menu.
2. Select Scheduled Tasks.
3. Click Add/Delete.
4. Click Add Tab and drop down to Automation Policy.
5. For Task Name, Service (actual) to Re-start Weekly.
6. For Credential, use Local System Credentials.
7. For Repository Item, restart Windows Service.
8. Enter Windows Service Name, input Exact Windows Service Name that you need to Re- Restart weekly.
9. Click Targets Tab.
9 For Devices, select the Server Name from Devices and push to the Selected Device.
10. Click Schedule Tab.
11. For Type, choose Recurring.
12. For Interval, choose Custom.
13. Choose Start time and click add.
14. For Days of the Week, select the day from Sun to Sat.
15. Click Notification tab if you want to be notified on suscess or failure.
16. Click Save.
