2025.4 HF1 Release Notes
Build Number: 2025.4.1.2 Last updated: 08/12/2025
N-central 2025.4 HF1 (build N-central 2025.4.0.9 – 2025.4.0.16) Patch issue
Issue:
This Hotfix resolves an issue introduced in N-central where a defect in the Windows Software Probe caused PME patching to fail when probe caching was enabled. Patch downloads and cache retrieval operations were interrupted, preventing PME jobs from completing successfully.
This issue affects partners who upgraded their Windows Software Probe to version 2025.4.0.9 or later and have patch cache enabled in their environments. Probe patching functionality for macOS and Linux is not affected.
Our Resolution:
Updated caching libraries and probe communication modules now allow PME patching to be completed as expected. Necessary probe services are automatically restarted as part of the fix. This Hotfix updates the Software Probe components and restarts required services to restore normal PME patching behavior.
We recommend that partners do not upgrade to the original N-central 2025.4 release. If you have already upgraded to 2025.4, you should apply Hotfix 1 as soon as it becomes available to restore normal PME patching behavior.
Installation Notes:
-
Install this Hotfix on your N-central server.
-
After installation, N-central will automatically deploy the updated probe components to all Windows Software Probes running 2025.4.0.9 or later.
